Though we are a self-catering cottage and function destination, guest-principals hiring our function facility and not wanting to physically cater for their own function are welcome to engage external support personnel (eg;caterers, photographers, celebrants, waiters, decorators etc). Below is a contact list of local providers who we accept as being reputable and who have expressed a willingness to be independently approached by our guests. Most have experience at our venue. Please feel free to contact them.

Insurance

Note that our insurance does not cover food, supplies or any service provided by you or external providers. You should ensure that any provider you engage does have the necessary qualifications or licences and liability insurance cover for themselves and for any staff, including workers compensation cover. If they do not and you engage people without such insurance then any and all losses or damage arising from the engagement of such providers will be the responsibility of the party hiring our venue....you.

Alcohol

Please note too that we do not have a Liquor Licence. You are welcome to provide your own alcohol to guests attending your function provided you do not sell it to them. If you are engaging waiters to serve alcohol it would be wise for you to engage staff who have Responsible Service of Alcohol certification. Most external caterers can provide this service for you. If you do wish to SELL alcohol at a function then that cannot be done unless you have a valid event Liquor Licence....a bureaucratic process that needs to be planned months in advance and needs our consent. In all cases when alcohol is served at a function we will hold liable the party booking the premises for any problems associated with or arising from its consumption by any member of their guest party.

Home-style at-table authentic Issan Thai cooking most suitable for smallish, casual family or friends gatherings. BBQ/hotpot specialties. Mai is not a regular professional caterer, does not carry her own insurance/indemnity cover but you can be assured of an authentic food experience.

Starfish Deli is an excellent waterside cafe in Batemans Bay. They professionally cater for off-site functions and their buffet and table service to a November 09 wedding at our venue was highly acclaimed by the wedding party.

Jenny Bell is an experienced hotel chef who now enthusiastically runs her own local business with her husband. Fully insured, they can cater for small and large groups and are especially available for groups wanting any or all of breakfast, lunch, dinner and morning/afternoon teas for a day or several days. They have worked here to customer acclaim.

Gabrielle is a cook with experience in catering for weddings and seminars and is available to do breakfast, lunch and dinner engagements. As her business is uninsured at this stage, risks associated with her work must be assumed by the party employing her.
