Environmentally Friendly Wedding Ceremonies

Wedding ceremonies really are a wonderful justification to put together your most significant, sophisticated bash ever, permitting us all to be queens and kings, getting applauded, congratulated, cherished and reverred. But are they environmentaly friendly?

Each of us are worthy of a fabulous time of celebrity and spending more than we maybe could afford to make sure the festivities are such that the couple, entourage, family and friends will never forget. Spending “big time” is not really necessary to do as the sentiment of the union of two people is the most important thing and the love and joy of the celebration with our people is the most important gift.

All the wedding guests can help to make the day such an amazing event by the small or simple things they can contribute like singing a song or lighting candles.

In fact all of us are worthy of getting noticed and enjoyed every single day. However as long as that doesn’t totally work out we now have “our special day” frequently coupled with those “just one day in a lifetime” obsessions.

We hear stories of brides throwing $20,000 of roses following her story book ceremony, where other people may just hire a hummer, others leaving strange gifts for everyone such as lots of small picture frames and bubble pipes. Whatever it is we desire we often splash out on.

Wouldn’t it be great to have a few of these days a year just to turbocharge morale?

Modern day lovebirds, whichever their particular design and style, concept or vibration can choose to commemorate with consciousness, thoughfulness for our planet and caring for all.

Whether it is Zenlike distinctiveness or resourceful extravagance, with pop star enthusiasm or right down to earth caring, their own festivities incorporate loved ones and family and friends, environment and the earth that sustains us all.

We have the choice to create a wedding ceremony that is environmentaly friendly and even have our family and friends contribute to sustainable practices by donating to a cause rather than giving presents that often bare no meaning to the newly weds.

Choosing a beautiful environment to celebrate your wedding is so important and Bawley Point on the NSW south coast is a perfect location with it’s natural bushland and spectacular beaches adding to the splendour of the most important day of your life.

Bawley Bush Cottages have the most amazing wedding venue with beautiful lawns above lake Willinga for the ceremony and indoors for the celebration in the Cockatoo Room

Team Building Activities Enhance Your Staff’s Performance

Team Building activities are one of the most valuable assets a manager can use to enhance staff performance, find coherence that will benefit dispute resolution, develop a culture that will earn respect from other company staff members, increase productivity and turnover

These can be games, music, meetings or any other way that a manager uses to bring his team closer together. Before you begin using team builders, you need to understand their value to you and your company.

Dispute Resolution

1. Team building activities do not necessarily make every member of the team friends, but they can build a mutual respect among the staff that results in smoother dispute resolution. There is also a coherence that team building activities create among team members that can develop a feeling of the team versus the rest of the company. In that context, team members are more likely to resolve disputes and avoid being outcast from the team.

Company-Wide Respect

2. The feeling of respect for members of a team that your staff develops when you use corporate team builders can extend out to the interaction your team has with other departments. The entire company can begin to develop a culture of cohesiveness and mutual respect when individual managers stress teamwork through team building activities.

Productivity

3. A cohesive team creates professional bonds between team members that will increase productivity. Team members become familiar with each others’ strengths and weaknesses, and learn to work with those characteristics to get the job done. Team members learn to cover each others inadequacies when they are exposed to corporate team builders.

Turnover

4. Having a strong team means that employees find value in what they do, and their standing within the group. It can help develop a strong sense of ownership for individual jobs and foster a dedication to the group and the company. This reduces turnover and helps the company save money on hiring and training new employees.

Once you’ve made your descision to take time out for your Team Building activities then you need to find the perfect location away from the normal day to day life of home and work.

Your team building venue must be fully equiped with all the technology you need plus an environment that will create a “pattern interupt” for your team members to be in a physical and mental environment to explore new ideas.

Bawley Bush Cottages on the south coast of nsw is the perfect location with a fully equipped “Cockatoo Room” function and seminar venue, eco friendly accommodation and is moments away from beautiful beaches and bush and mountain walks. It’s not hard to find activities to do to energise and relax your staff before or after your main body of work.

Corporate Team Building Does Makes Sense | South Coast Venue

Corporate Team Building definitely has an important role if you are to expect the best from your team. Having the right venue is an important factor to make sure your team are comfortable, have all the necessary equipment to work with and can also have some fun. Alan Hunt from Sandstone sums it up nicely in this article.

Corporate teams that perform well over time tend to have one thing in common. They pay attention to ensuring that their effectiveness improves over time. Team building is an important element in making that happen.

Why is it that some companies will often indulge their people and hold team building away days almost at the drop of a hat while others look on with disdain and claim that they might as well throw their money on the fire? What is it about those companies that run them that distinguishes them from those that don’t?

The answer is obvious. Those that do value their people more than those that don’t. If you don;t believe me, try asking employees of each type the simple question “Do you think that your employer values you?” I’m willing to bet that if you’ll get far more “no” responses from the latter category than the former. Yet these will be the same people that does value other assets used within their company. They’ll value their production equipment enough to maintain it regularly. They’ll value their computer equipment enough to have a maintenance contract with an outside supplier. Yet they’ll do neither of these things for any reason other than they know it makes sense. So why can’t they also see that their people need the same kind of contract looking after them to continue to perform to their best as time goes by?

There’s a good chance that the answer to that is that they don’t really understand what corporate team building is for. They’ll probably view it as an expense rather than an investment because what they believe happens as such events is that people are given a good time and that’s it. If they don’t see an away day as an opportunity to improve the team and only see it as a distraction from “real work”, then how can they justify spending the money? I can see why such companies don’t hold events at all or very infrequently. Those that have a different perspective do see the value. They recognise that teams that receive regular opportunities to focus on improving the way they work will, over time, achieve more. Which makes corporate team building an investment and not simply an expense.

Good team building events combine the “fun” elements that generate a laughter-filled atmosphere with aspects that ensure that there are plenty of parallels between the way that teams approach the activity and the way that they approach their work. These are important because they can be used in a professional debriefing session to focus on sending the team away with ideas on how to be better at what they do than they were the day before. It is that debriefing process that turns a fun day into a worthwhile investment.

In conclusion, corporate team building should be about improving teams in the long term as much as having a bit of fun. If you see them in that light, then they are the equivalent of regular servicing for other business assets. And you would choose not to do that at your peril.

Bawley Bush Cottages is the perfect South Coast Corporate Team Building venue with it’s fully equiped Cockatoo Function room, plenty of space plus eco friendly accommodation set in a beautiful natural bush environment.

South Coast Team Building Venue | Canberra Team Building

Corporate Seminar and Training SpaceEvery now and then I read a report from a Team Building organisation that have a new angle to team performance and strategies to make a company work as a closer and more cohensive unit. This one caught my eye. I hope there is something in there for you.

This article is from Patrick Lencioni on his new book “The Five Disfunctions of a Team” and the basic thought he suggests revolves around these five points:

  1. The absence of trust – when team members are not comfortable to be open and honest with each other.
  2. Fear of conflict – people on a team need to be able to engage in good healthy conflict around ideas. They can’t do this when they have a lack of trust.
  3. Lack of commitment – people won’t commit to a topic because they haven’t bought in to or become truly involved in it. Conflict enables people to be able to be more involved.
  4. Unwillingness to hold each other accountable – good team members can hold each other accountable because they are committed to the topic with no fear of conflict because they can trust each other and do what’s necessary for the team.
  5. Inattention to results – when team members aren’t focusing on the collective results of the team because they are focusing on their own ego or budget or their career.

I received some great some information from Patrick and if you’d like to read more go to his Table Group site.

For your next South Coast Team Building Event book the fully equipped Cockatoo Room function and meeting venue at Bawley Bush Cottages and stay in our 4 Star Eco Retreat Accommodation  where all your needs will be taken care of in a relaxing environment.

The South Coast in the State of New South Wales, Australia, stretches from Sydney in the north down a narrow coastal belt south to the Victorian border. A series of national parks lay to the west forming a border by the coastal escarpment of the Southern Tablelands while the east is flanked by the Pacific Ocean.

The beautiful lush countryside is scattered with small coastal towns that boast stunning white sandy beaches and rocky headlands. Inland are many small rural townships with rolling hills and farmlands.

The South Coast districts include the Bega Valley in the south with Eden as the southern coastal town. Moving north to the Eurobodalla Shire with the townships of Narooma to Moruya. The Clyde Coast has Batemans Bay, Bawley Point up to Ulladulla with Shoalhaven in the northern region.

South Coast Kangaroo Spotting at Pebbly Beach

There are many hundreds of visitors each year to the south coast region of NSW (and especially those from overseas) who want to see our native kangaroos in the wild. They are in plentiful numbers everywhere with two species of wallaby (swamp and red-necked) and one kangaroo (the eastern grey) often being seen on our own south coast accommodation at Bawley Bush Cottages.

They can be seen in large quantities on the oval at Kioloa about 10km away but the most known place for kangaroos is in the Murramarang National Park at Pebbly Beach, approximately 20km by sealed and gravel road from Bawley Bush Cottages.

Pebbly Beach is undoubtedly famous for kangaroos pictured in the surf and is also a beautiful location to relax and laze about on the beach. The road into Pebbly Beach from the Princes Highway is a well maintained dirt road, with sections that have been upgraded to full tar. National Park car parking fee applies.

Caution: Kangaroos are wild animals and care should be taken into account when approaching those who have become apparently familiar with humans. Their hind legs can inflict much damage should they decide to attack. So…for your safety please follow instructions from signs posted by the National Park rangers.

Do not feed the Kangaroos.

South Coast Whale Watching

Humpback along with southern right whales anually migrate along the NSW South Coast. They head north during June plus the first week of July and come back southwards from about September to November.

Some of the other whales it’s possible to view off the NSW South Coast can include Minke, Sperm, Pygmy right whale, Pygmy sperm whale and Brydes whale.

In 1991 Migaloo, (a white male humpback) was first noticed off the east coast of Australia. He has been offering whale watchers an original encounter during the yearly migration from Antarctica to the warmer oceans of the tropics ever since.

During their northern migration, many whales can come inside a several km distance from the NSW coastline. Headlands and also lookouts through national parks are excellent locations for you to view them.

The best times during the day to observe whales from almost all vantage points are late morning along with earlier afternoon usually as there is less glare off the water making sighting of the tell-tale “blow” easier to observe. Early morning may also be a good time because the “blow” can often be highlighted by the backlight from the early morning sunlight.

We are blessed to get in such close proximity to their longstanding migratory course between the sheltered warm mating environment of the Southern Pacific and exceptional feeding grounds of Antarctica because of the optimum advantage points along the coastline.

South Coast Accommodation can be found at Bawley Bush Cottages in their 4 Star Eco Retreat and Whale Watching is only moments away on the headlands surrounding Bawley Point.
