Choosing a Cottage

Which cottage is the most suitable for us?

If you are comparing us with other destinations bear in mind that we are on 40 lakeside acres and spend as much on making the outdoor experience of our property as pleasurable for visitors as we do on making indoor experiences live up to their (mainly 4-star) star standard. We are dearer than others but we offer much more. At Bawley Bush Cottages we have a variety of cottages that, in total, can comfortably sleep a group of 30 - 35 people. We can also accommodate function overflow on camping sites.

If you are looking for a very secluded spot for 2-6 people then Chefs Cottage is the ideal cottage for you; if you are a couple and enjoy water views and open spaces (perhaps you have a dog you want to watch cavort on the large lawns below) then either Cormorant and Oystercatcher Bush Apartments (Seabird) will suit perfectly; if you are a couple or a family for whom plenty of space is important then either Cafe Cottage or the Cockatoo Room (as a cottage) should be thoroughly checked out (together these would suit up to 4 families wanting to stay together); if you're a couple or small family on a budget and want privacy and romance then Wattlebird Bush Apartment is for you. Though it is only occasionally available, when Bill and Pip, who live there, are away travelling, Kookaburra Cottage is our most luxurious. It's appointments and dam-side location offers the ultimate coastal holiday experience for up to 7 people. 

Cottage bed configurations and maximum capacity

We set out here the absolute maximum number of people that can be accommodated in any one cottage. Note however that the total we can accommodate overall is limited by the fact that we only have a total of 8 foldup beds. All king beds can be divided into singles. Bedrooms are all private with doors.  Lofts and lounge rooms are less private. We have no ensuite bathrooms. Excluding the Cockatoo Room we can accommodate about 30 people in cottages. We can accommodate additional people in their own tents, camper vans or caravans.

Cafe Cottage (max 13 but then very crowded):

Upstairs bedroom: 1 king with space for 1 foldup

Upstairs loft: 1 king trundle with space for 1 foldup

Downstairs bedroom: 1 king

Downstairs extra room: 3 foldups

Downstairs lounge: 1 queen sofa bed

Cormorant and Oystercatcher bush apartments, can be joined to make a cottage (max 6 in each apartment)

Upstairs bedroom: 1 king bed and space for 2 foldups

Downstairs lounge: 1 queen sofa bed

Chef's Cottage (max 8 people): 

Downstairs bedroom: 1 queen 

Downstairs bedroom: 1 king

Upstairs loft: 1 king with space for 2 foldups

Wattlebird bush apartment (max 5 people):

1 king with space for foldup

1 double sofa bed

Cockatoo Room (If not being used for a function: max 8 sleeping, not private, single room dormitory with queen width double length sofa beds with limited privacy provided by curtains if desired).

2 sofa beds, 4 foldup beds

We have wifi available at all cottages.

Celebrating?

If you're celebrating or wanting to run an event with accommodation then the Cockatoo (function) Room in combo with Cafe Cottage and/or our other cottages can't be beaten on the south coast; .

Secluded and rustic eco-theme

All of our buildings are similarly finished featuring earth brick or corrugated iron cladding,  exposed local hardwood features, internal pine panelling, wood fires, BBQs and comfortable furniture creating the best eco friendly Function Centre and South Coast Accommodation in NSW. We use sustainable building, water and waste practices. All cottages are set in the bush, well separated from others and have water views or glimpses.
